So, I started a blog.

Here I am. Starting a blog - about five years too late. Better late than never, you say? Well, we'll see if that's true.

I am what you would call a blog starter. I've started about five blogs over the course of the last few years. I always have the best of intentions of writing really witty posts and becoming best friends with other bloggers yada yada yada and then after a post or two, I lose steam. That's kind of a theme with my life - I generally get bored with things pretty quickly. But I digress (and that's a post for another time)!

Anyway, it's actually Facebook that changed my mind. I find that I really love posting my status updates, getting comments about said status updates and knowing that people are following the updates to see what I'm up to. So I figured - why not update everyone in a longer form? I mean, that's what I see the function of blogs being. I'm certainly not under the impression that I'm the most awesome person out there - but apparently a small group of people find me to be interesting. That's enough for me!

I guess the main question is: are blogs obsolete? I pondered that recently thinking about doing a posting on my good friend Jill's blog (where I am an occasional guest poster) - do people even read these things anymore? I sure hope so.

So here I am - warts and all. Hope you enjoy my ramblings!

Oh - about my title. Mark Twain is one of my favorite humorists and I wanted to use one of his quotes as the basis for my blog and I found one that pretty much sums me up:

"The funniest things are the forbidden."
